ROBOTIC COLORECTAL & GENERAL SURGEON

Dr. Assad Zahid completed his General Surgical training in Sydney and received his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He was awarded the Mitchell J Notaras Scholarship in Colorectal Surgery for three consecutive years to undertake advanced training in colorectal surgery. This was awarded to him by the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) and the University of Sydney. His advanced fellowship training in colorectal surgery was completed at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He then completed further fellowships in the United Kingdom at the prestigious St Mark's and Basingstoke Hospitals.

Dr. Zahid performs surgery for both general surgical conditions and colorectal disorders. He has training in robotic & advanced laparoscopic surgery and is able to perform surgery using minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Zahid also performs diagnostic and interventional colonoscopies. All his cancer patients are discussed at the the Liverpool Hospital or Sydney Adventist Hospital Colorectal Multidisciplinary team meetings.

Dr Zahid has a keen interest in research and education. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at The Australian National University. He has published in over 40 peer-review journals. He has completed a Master of Surgery as well as a Master of Philosophy. And he is currently completing a PhD in Surgical Education and training.
